The task: price and pay in som at the rate you really get

A company in Kyrgyzstan that pays suppliers abroad, prices contracts in dollars or settles with customers in som cannot rely only on the official rate. The rate at the counter and the rate on the street often differ, and that gap ends up in margin, invoices and reconciliations. Finance teams need one reference figure they can check, store with history and plug into a spreadsheet or an accounting system.

How the index helps

The index publishes the street rate of the som against the US dollar and USDT. Every figure carries a confidence class and the number of sources behind it, so you can see how much weight it deserves. It is built from transaction-based market data and quotes from independent public market sources. You can read it on the site or pull it into your own systems with an API key, and use the history to compare it with the official rate and see the premium.

Questions from finance teams

How is the street rate different from the official rate?
The official rate is set by the central bank. The street rate is the rate at which people actually exchange dollars for som. The index shows the street rate and lets you compare it with the official one to see the premium.
What do the confidence class and the number of sources mean?
They show how well the figure is supported. More independent sources and a higher class mean a more reliable figure. A figure with weak support is labelled as such, so you can decide how to use it.
Can I get the rate into my own system?
Yes. Get an API key, request the current street rate of the som and its history, and load it into your spreadsheet, accounting tool or internal dashboard. The plans below list what each tier includes.
Is this financial advice?
No. EMpulse is a reference index. It does not tell you when to buy or sell, and the decision stays with you.
