Methodology
USDT Liquidity & Premium
- Activity of a day = the USDT value of successful transactions of the transaction-based component of the
index and of the payment rails, both sides. It is never published; it only feeds the index.
- liquidity_index = 100 × activity / (activity + baseline), where the baseline is the median activity of
the previous 90 days with activity (at least 7 days). 50 = the currency's own norm; above 50 = more dollar
liquidity than usual; 0 = nothing. Hours use the same formula against baseline / 24.
- in_out_balance = the pay-in share of the day's activity (0–1): above 0.5 more dollars came in than went
out.
- spread_pct = the buy–sell spread of the street rate of the day (hour), from the Street FX Index.
- active_hours = the hours of day (UTC) carrying at least 3 % of the day's activity.
- premium_vs_official = the street premium over the official rate from Official vs Street, where a licensed
official source exists.
- supply =
ample / scarce / none from the funded, open counterparties through the day.
- confidence:
high / medium / limited from the number of successful transactions behind the day; the
number is not published.
- Days are UTC; the latest day is recomputed with every data load.
