Three ways teams use the index
1. Treasury: price payouts against the street, not the official window
A treasury that pays out in local currency compares the official rate with the rate the market actually clears at. The parallel-market premium today:
| Currency | Official | Street index | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| INR | 94.95 | 92.93 | -2.1 % |
| KZT | 447.9 | 448.4 | +0.1 % |
| TRY | 49.74 | 45.88 | -7.7 % |
One API call per currency per day (/v1/rates/latest) feeds the pricing sheet; the official-vs-street product adds the official rate and the premium in the same row.
2. Remittance: the hour matters
On 2026-10-24 the hourly index of AZN moved between 1.7500 and 1.7504 over 21 hours with an index value (whole-day average 1.7502). A remittance desk that quotes customers during the day prices against the hour, not against yesterday's close.
/v1/rates/{cur}/hourly (Pro) returns the hours and the daily summary.
3. Research: where the street moved most
| Currency | Index | 30-day change | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| EGP | 54.96 | +4.1% | high |
| RUB | 82.04 | -3.9% | high |
| KRW | 1,340 | -2.2% | limited |
