Privacy
EMpulse serves an index of street exchange rates. We keep as little about visitors and customers as the service needs, nothing goes to third parties, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers of other companies on these pages.
Visitors of the site
- Server logs. The web server writes the usual access log; our statistics read it and keep only counts per page, country and day. Visitors are counted by a salted hash that changes every day; plain IP addresses are not stored in the statistics.
- Our own page beacon. A small script of ours (
/static/b.js, under 2 KB, no other company involved) tells the server that a real browser opened the page: the page, its language, the screen width, the address you came from, and while the tab is visible — how far the page was scrolled, which sections were on screen and for how many seconds, and clicks on a few marked buttons (the key form, the plans, the language switch, downloads). From this we only keep totals per page and day. - Not collected: mouse movement, what you type into forms, recordings of sessions, fingerprints, data from other sites.
- One cookie.
emp_vidis a random id kept for 90 days, so that a second visit is not counted as a new person and we know which page brought a visitor who later asked for a key. It holds no personal data. - Opting out. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the script sends nothing and the server ignores the beacon.
Customers
- We keep the email you gave us for the key, the key as a hash, your plan, invoices and request counts per day — see Security.
- Letters about your key (first steps, plan limits, renewal) go to that email; reply "stop" to any of them and we write no more.
- You can delete your account in the account: the email and every identifier linked to it are removed, free keys stop working; we keep only anonymous counts (for example, that a key was issued in a given month). Invoices are kept as accounting requires.
